Over the past year, a small group of CETL students have been receiving individual tuition in Indian Classical Music, voice and tabla. For all of these students this has been a completely new musical experience, and they have only recently begun to perform to each other in small groups.
In March they faced their first public performance in a Bhaitak.
The Bhaitak is a small, informal social gathering and presentation, in this case featuring North Indian classical vocal music performed by students from the CETL World Music project.
‘it felt really scary performing something I feel so new to but it was great doing this in such a family like atmosphere’(student)
