Award winning music graduate puts Wansbeck on the map
Angie Turnbull, musician singer and Newcastle University MA graduate, has been awarded CETL funding to record, produce and distribute a CD to help promote the musical community of Wansbeck to promoters, venues and musicians from outside the North East area – at the same time creating a touring network for performing musicians.
A selection of young musicians will record two original tracks that will be professionally engineered and produced. The tracks will then form part of a Wansbeck Musicians CD – information on each band and contact details will be on the sleeve.
Angie says “I hope to break down the existing barriers Wansbeck musicians face when trying to organise performances across the country”. Angie was this year’s winner of the RMT New Trader Award at the Newcastle University Enterprise Awards for her business Now Hear This.
